Members with an official handicap are invited to send a copy of their handicap certificate to the Secretary of The Handicap Committee for ratification. 

Members without a handicap will be granted an initial handicap of 36 for men, 45 for ladies and 54 for juniors. Thereafter, members are encouraged to submit three cards for consideration by the Handicap Committee.

Handicap System

The RHRGC follows the standard Australian system of handicap allocation. To be considered for a handicap, you should submit three scorecards from rounds of between 9 and 18 holes, supported by the signature of an “approved marker”. An “approved marker” is generally a golfer who holds either a men or women’s Australian Handicap, or one from another recognised golf association. The initial 3 cards should be from a member course of an approved golf association.  The course rating must be shown on the cards.

When you have submitted your three cards, these will be analysed and any necessary adjustments will be made before your handicap is calculated. The worst score for any hole which is more than 3 over par will be adjusted to no more than 3 over par. For example, a score of 9 or more on a par 5 hole will result in the score being adjusted to an 8.

The rules above apply to your first three cards only. Thereafter the Council of National Golf Unions system of handicap adjustment will be applied.
