Final Quarter Report
October - December 2015

Another year has passed, our volunteering duties now completed for 2015;  so we look forward to continuing our services in the new year. 
Here are the details of the duties carried out by the LFICC for October, November and December 2015

bullet

Back pack mission project.  We collected items for 20 packs for distribution to a number of street people in Saskatoon.

Medical Car - On 5 occasions local residents were transported for medical treatment to Saskatoon, Prince Albert and Nipawin.

Local ice hockey game - A member assisted in the selling of raffle tickets at this game,

Helping Hands - During this quarter 10 security checks were carried out on private property and pets fed in the absence of their owners.  Reception desk "manned" at the Saskatoon annual coin and stamp fair.  On 19 occasions members visited sick and elderly people in hospital and nursing homes. During this quarter 1 meal was delivered to a local elderly house bound neighbour.  Our member with musical talent once again played 12 times at various seniors centers and care homes.

Local seniors annual bingo -  One member again helped run this event.

Food catering duties - Carried out 5 times during the festive season. We assisted with catering at the following suppers :-
Annual sellathon, Utoch fall supper, Beatty fall supper, annual beef and blast meal, local high school fall supper.

Annual Awards Day Ceremony -  Held in the Melfort Masonic Hall and was, once again, enjoyed by all who attended.
Those who qualified for awards were:

Captain Wallace Hanson received the Volunteer of the year award plus the Meritorious Conduct Medal.
Captain Annabelle Hanson received the Meritorious Conduct Medal. Both were thrilled with their awards which were received from PHR.
Captain Annabelle Hanson also received her pin for 600 duties.
Annabelle and Wallace are a real asset to our group.

Immediately after the meeting we held our annual Yule Tide (or Christmas) meal which was once again very enjoyable.

Salvation Army "Kettles" - On 5 occasions during December members of the troop "manned" posts in Nipawin and Melfort.

Command Christmas dinner - This year saw the dinner held at the farm belonging to Jim and Joyce Wilson and a great time was had by all.
 

This concludes my final report for the year 2015.
