Food Bank.  On 2 occasions the troop ran the Tisdale Food Bank Distribution Centre.  The Salvation Army is in charge of the operation (on behalf of the town of Tisdale) and they appoint various volunteer groups to run the centre.  The food is donated by local companies and members of the public and distributed to people who are in dire need.

Because of our involvement as frontiersmen in the activities of the village of Ridgedale;  Deputy Chief Commissioner Shirley and I were, at the Seniors Association elected as follows :-Myself to the position of Vice President and Shirley as Secretary/Treasurer of the Ridgedale Senior Citizens Association.
We were not expecting these appointments but we are looking forward to the challenge.

Our troop and the Town of Ridgedale were most pleased and honoured upon the announcement from the Principality of Commissioner Barbara Messenger being awarded Dame of the Order of Wisdom and Learning (see below) in the 40th Anniversary Honours List, April 21st. A special luncheon and presentation of this Honour was held in conjunction with the issuing of other awards of the Legion in the Ridgedale Senior Citizens Hall in the presence of many local dignataries, towns people and local media.

With new members we embrace the future enthusiastically as volunteer providers locally and are ever grateful to the support we receive from the Principality of Hutt River.

This concludes the report for this quarter.

God Guard Thee.  Yours in service.

Sir G. B. Metcalfe KCIOM., AMM.
