Third Quarter Report
July - September 2011:

I am pleased to supply the third quarter year report from the Legion of Frontiersmen Independent Command Canada for July, August and September 2011.

We still continue to "man" the "coffee mornings" in Ridgedale and on 48 occasions the troop once again ran this event.

Members of the troop were involved with the activities at the local Canada Day celebrations.

Food Bank - 4 times the troop ran the Tisdale Food Bank Distribution Centre.

On 3 occasions this quarter we helped sort items delivered to the Salvation Army Charity Store in the town of Tisdale.

On 18 occasions the troop collected food contributions from various stores in Tisdale and delivered them to the food distribution centre for allocation.

Medical car - 11 times local residents were transported for medical appointments in either Saskatoon, Nipawin, Prince Albert or Nanaimo.

On 3 occasions catering duties were carried out at Ridgedale Pot Luck Suppers.

Community in Bloom - 5 times one of our members assisted with clerical duties.

Silver Stream Fair - members sold "Nevada" tickets on behalf of the Ridgedale Seniors Club. This is a very small country fair about 10 miles from Ridgedale,  it has been held every year for 96 years.  We had a very successful day.

Ridgedale Annual Ball Game - (Slow Pitch which is similar to Baseball) - 1 member assisted in the running of the refreshment tent.

Melfort Fair - museum guide/security duties carried out for several hours.

Barrier Golf Tournament - 2 duties carried out at this event.
 

bullet

22 volunteer duties were carried out at a local nursing home.
 

bullet

Helping Hands - During the quarter members carried out 17 duties checking empty property and/or feeding the pets in the absence of the owners; also carried out 2 volunteer duties at a local library.

         

This concludes the report for this third quarter of 2011.
