It was with much sorrow that we received news of the passing of

Commissioner, Dame Commander Stella Spooner DCIOM, MCM
Legion of Frontiersmen, Independent Command CANADA.

May 10 1942 - September 05 2014 Age 72

We here in the Principality have been aware of the efforts of Dame Stella in serving her local community, something she has done for many years without complaint. Dame Stella has been a loyal and dedicated member of the LOFICC, serving as Unit Secretary for more than 5 continuous years. Even in recent times when her health had forced her to take things a little slower she absolutely refused to cease offering her help and services wherever and at any time that she could.

I am pleased that we did have the opportunity to recognise the efforts of Dame Stella by awarding her:-
Jan 01 2009 - Commander in the Illustrious Order of Merit (CIOM).
April 21 2014 - Meritorious Conduct Medal (MCM) for over 300 Public Service Actions and more than 5 years service.
April 21 2014 - Elevated to Dame Commander in the Illustrious Order of Merit (DCIOM).

I once again send my condolences and the condolences of the RHRDF members world wide, to all of Dame Stella's Family, Friends and of course her Fellow Members in the Legion of Frontiersmen, Independent Command Canada and thank her for her very valued service provided over the many years.

She will not be forgotten.
