Report. |

Headquarters Command has had a quieter quarter this turn round so efforts have been mainly directed towards collecting publications and media (DVD, CDROM's etc) for future distribution, however HQ has still been able to carry out a few field operations as well as to tidy-up HQ control & communications areas which includes the commencement on the design of a new brochure to promote the RHRL. WE aim to create a 3 section folded promotional brochure. HRH Prince Leonard, Commander in Chief RHRDF has offered to have a RHRL promotional brochure go out with all outgoing Government mail and we have also secured consent to have a brochure included in each outgoing postal item shipped by PHR-OnLine thus effectively almost all mail out of PHR will carry the promotional brochure. It is hoped that this brochure will be ready for in-house printing by the end of the next quarter so that we can then announce it's completion and maybe report on it's commenced distribution. Some of the actions carried out this quarter have been:

1st Barton Platoon |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The last three months have been a productive period for the First Barton Platoon.
Sgt Casselton has continued to be a committed and hard-working member of the team. It was her suggestion that we undertake a fundraising walk and she took responsibility for arranging our participation in the HBF Run for a Reason and raised more money than any other member. Sgt Casselton proposed that the platoon provide birthday gifts for socially isolated seniors, thanks to her initiative we will begin providing presents to residents of Amaroo Retirement Village in July 2014.
Cpl Oliver was hospitalized for part of the current quarter. This did not stop her from helping other patients, while in hospital, and, since being discharged, returning to active duty with the platoon. Cpl Oliver drew our attention to the HBF Run for a Reason, allowing us to participate and raise money for Lifeline, which provides telephone counselling for the isolated and distressed. She also provided sponsorship through her company Get Pickled.
Pamela Searle, who has been a committed supporter since the Platoon began operations, continues to provide invaluable assistance. At a time when many people are struggling she provides food for homeless people and supports the community in other ways.
Another supporter, Jennifer Jenkins, has been an invaluable source of ''in kind' donations providing toys, gift-wrap and baskets for donations. I hope both of these supporters will join the Platoon, in the meantime their support is appreciated.
Of our priorities for the second quarter, to provide Easter eggs to Starick Services Woman’s Refuge, provide books on Australia and the two world wars to Benevolent Hands for their members, provide gifts to residents at a nursing home who have no family or friends to provide them with gifts, continue to feed homeless people, continue to provide books and magazines to hospitals, clinics and community organisations, continue to provide secretarial support for Benevolent Hand and recruitment all except providing birthday gifts to socially isolated nursing home residents and recruiting more members have been met in full. We have met with staff at Amaroo Village, an aged care facility in Gosnells, and will commence providing gifts in July 2014. Recruitment remains an ongoing challenge however we are fortunate to have a dedicated team and to people who provide ongoing support.
